AKKO 10 mm Wide Steel Slide-On A5 Guide Comb

Description

The 10 mm size is ideal for achieving a medium-short, soft and even cut, perfect for regular coat maintenance and for grooming the dog’s body with a neat and natural result. It is a very popular length among professional groomers and pet owners who want to keep the coat easy to manage while leaving more coverage compared to shorter sizes, without fully shaving the coat.

The Akko Slide-On Wide 10 mm Comb Attachment delivers the best performance on clean, dry and thoroughly brushed coats. Before clipping, it is important to remove any knots, mats and excess undercoat, as every comb attachment works more precisely when the coat is perfectly prepared. A dirty or matted coat can reduce cutting quality and affect the smooth gliding of the clipper blade.

This size is particularly suitable for dogs with curly, wavy, woolly, soft and dense coats, such as Poodles, Poodle crosses, Bichon Frisé, Lagotto Romagnolo, Cockapoos, Labradoodles and many other Doodle mixes. The Akko Slide-On Wide 10 mm Comb Attachment allows a fuller finish compared to shorter sizes, leaving more coat length and creating a smooth, soft and easy-to-manage result.

It is widely used for maintenance trims, puppy cuts and teddy bear styles, where the goal is to maintain enough length to enhance the natural texture of the coat. Thanks to its greater cutting height, it is ideal for achieving softer, more rounded shapes while preserving the natural volume of the coat. It is also suitable for straight or silky coats, such as Maltese, Shih Tzu and Cocker Spaniels, provided the coat is properly prepared before clipping.

On curly and continuously growing coats, the Akko 10 mm Comb Attachment allows a balanced coat length, making daily maintenance easier without completely removing the natural volume. It is particularly suitable for coats with a soft, elastic and structured texture, where a fuller and more natural finish is desired compared to shorter combs. As with all comb attachments, the final result depends on coat preparation, coat density and the groomer’s technique.

Made from strong and durable materials, the Akko Slide-On Wide Comb Attachment is designed to provide reliability even under intensive salon use. The fine teeth ensure smooth clipper movement, reducing snagging and helping achieve a clean, even and professional finish.

For best performance, it is recommended to use the comb attachment with a properly sharpened, clean and regularly oiled clipper blade. The final result also depends on coat structure, coat density, clipping technique and coat preparation.
